Judge's comments: "A diagonal placement draws the viewer into the painting and, once there, finds a charming piece of life. The well-painted figure blends beautifully with the rural atmosphere."

Judges's comments: "A very simple uncluttered colour pattern for a very simple domestic scene. A square format is always a challenge, and this one has worked to a tea".

Best Pastel

Judge's comments: "This pastel is low key and moody. The artist has allowed the ground colour (paper) to be a dominant part of the work. There is lovely flow in the technique."

Judge's comments: "The artist has presented a very vibrant and exciting piece with a fine sense of colour and design. The repetitive theme surrounding the main body of the work shows the artist's ability to be creative and individual."
